At Stephen & Co. before a "hair dresser" can own the title " hair designer" they must pass a certification program developed specifically for our stylists. This program consists of learning art principles of form and design, and applying them while taking into consideration face shape, hair type and body structure. This allows our stylists to customize a new look for each client.

In addition to the initial certification program, each stylist is required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education per year. Our stylists travel to places such as New York, Las Vegas and Dallas to attend advanced training classes. At our many trainings held in the salon, we have also had industry leaders such as, David Stanko, Patrick McIvor, Justin Isaac, Kris Sorbie, Roy Peters, Kristi Valenzuela, and Michael Cole, come into the salon to give classes, which sets us apart from other salons in our area.
